  1. Prepare the ingredients that go with your vegetables. Onions, green peppers, celery, and tomatoes always work well. Chop into small pieces.
  2. Take your Chuck Roast and sear in a frying pan. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side. Searing can help lock in the flavor.
  3. Put the Chuck Roast in your oven that has been pre-heated to 350 degrees. Add your vegetables and 3 cups of water. You can even sit the roast on top of the chopped vegetables. This allows the juices from the roast to drip down into the vegetables. This helps transfer some of the flavor of the meat into the vegetables. It gives the entire meal a consistent flavor. Cook for 3 hours.

How to cook the beef chuck roast fast?

In a situation where you simply do not have enough time to cook the meat thoroughly, you can cheat by using the microwave. Before you put the Chuck Roast in the oven, put it in the microwave and give it a head-start. Set the microwave at 50% power and cook the Chuck Roast for 5-10 minutes. Adjust your time up or down based on the size of the roast. After you have this “pre-heat” period, put it in the oven and cook it normally.

You can also do the microwave trick after you have cooked it in the oven. If your guests are waiting for the food and it simply is not done, you can take it out of the oven and cook for 2-3 minutes in the microwave. If you are going to serve the meat already sliced, you can take it out of the oven and slice up the individual portions. Put it back in and let it cook for a few more minutes. Pay careful attention here! You can easily overcook it when it is sliced into small pieces.

You can make your Chuck Roast extra special by making a gravy to go with it. When you take the roast out of the oven, remove it from the pan and set aside. Remember that it will continue to cook for a few more minutes after you take it out of the oven.

Take the juices from the roast and vegetables and put them in a small pan on your stove-top. Add two tablespoons of corn-starch and a little bit of water. Keep whisking the gravy until it is smooth.
